Recovery Community Organization (RCO)
We very excited to annouce that we are applying to become an Recovery Community Organization this year! This will enable Loudoun Serenity to offer services in addition to recovery housing to a greater number of individuals. We have estimated the cost of staff, hotline, office for counseling visits, website and resources to be approximately $250k annually. We expect to reach an additional 500 people our first year and expand from there through staff and volunteers. We're especially excited to open a Recovery Community Center (or "Recovery Cafe") to bring fun, alcohol free, events to Loudoun residents. Music, art classes, jewelry making, pickleball lessons, and just hanging out in a no judgement atmosphere to celebrate life in recovery!
Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs) and Recovery Cafes are a new and exciting development in recovery services and are opening across the US as a grassroots effort to provide recovery services to a wider audience to include families, friends, employers of individuals in recovery.
We are very grateful to the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation who awarded a $40,000 grant towards the forming of an RCO. If we're able to raise another $40,000 in donations, they'll award an additional $40,000 to match those donations!
Please help us raise $40,000 this Spring to bring the Recovery Community Organization to fruition.
