When someone commits themselves to recovery, they are making the decision to pursue a new chapter. A chapter that's grounded in stability, connection, and personal growth. At Loudoun Serenity House, we meet people at this critical crossroads, offering them more than just encouragement. We provide consistent, hands-on support day after day, week after week, so no one has to navigate the journey alone.
For many of our participants, the first step through our doors is the beginning of something they weren’t sure was possible. But that kind of healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It takes a coordinated system of services and compassionate people—many of them donors, volunteers, and partners like you—showing up consistently to walk alongside someone on their recovery journey.
Recovery Is More Than Just a Decision
Recovery isn’t a single moment, day, or week. It's a long term and everchanging process. For recovery to be sustainable, it requires much more than willpower. That’s why Loudoun Serenity House provides wraparound recovery support services that go far beyond transitional recovery housing.
Every person we serve here receives access to Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (cPRS), these are individuals with lived experience who know what it’s like to face addiction, fight for stability, and begin again. These mentors serve not just as support systems, but as proof that long-term recovery is possible.
We also help people in our programs to create personalized recovery plans, allowing them to identify goals, build a foundation for independence, and take small, measurable steps toward the life they want to live. Whether that means applying for benefits, enrolling in counseling, or preparing for a job interview, we’re there to provide hands-on support and practical tools.
The Power of Peer Support, Connection, and Community Services
Sustainable recovery doesn’t come from willpower alone. It takes connection. It takes consistency. And it takes access to real-world resources that meet a person where they are. That’s why Loudoun Serenity House integrates a wide range of community-based services to support every dimension of recovery and it's what sets us apart.
At the heart of this approach is our team of Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (cPRS) who are individuals with lived experience who walk alongside participants with empathy and understanding. These are not just support workers; they are mentors and role models. They help build recovery plans, offer encouragement through challenges, and model what’s possible on the other side of hardship.
But our support doesn’t stop at peer relationships. Through our Recovery Community Center in Leesburg, participants and community members alike have access to tools that can make the difference between surviving and thriving. We provide:
Free wellness and harm reduction supplies like NARCAN, fentanyl test strips, hygiene kits, and donated clothing.
Connections to licensed professionals offering counseling, financial support, job coaching, resume building, and assistance enrolling in Medicaid and SNAP.
Weekly recovery and wellness groups that support a wide variety of pathways and create a space where individuals can build lasting community.
Educational presentations by experts in harm reduction and long-term recovery, helping participants build their knowledge around SUD and practicing self-advocacy.
Social activities and recovery events that promote inclusion and joy, because connection and celebration are part of healing too.
We also maintain two VARR-accredited recovery residences—one for men and one for women—each offering structured, affordable housing for up to 14 individuals with at least 30 days of abstinence and a primary diagnosis of Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
These homes are more than a place to sleep. They are safe, stable environments where participants can focus on healing while surrounded by others who understand the road they’re walking. Our residence managers and peer support team provide consistency and accountability while also helping residents develop practical life skills and routines that reinforce self-reliance.

Your Support Creates Change
Everything we offer, from daily hot meals to hygiene supplies, to one-on-one recovery planning, is made possible through donor support. Your generosity doesn’t just fund programs; it funds people, their second chances and their rebuilding efforts.
If you’ve ever wondered where your gift goes, it goes here:
Into the hands of a Peer Recovery Specialist offering encouragement after a tough day.
Toward the roof over someone’s head while they regain their footing.
Into the shared meals, bus passes, ID cards, and job prep sessions that turn hope into real progress.
Because of you, Loudoun Serenity House isn’t just a place. It’s a path forward.
Final Word
As we continue to grow and adapt to meet the needs of our Loudoun County community, we remain committed to the principle that recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Every journey is different, but no one should have to walk it alone.
Whether you choose to volunteer, donate, share our message, or simply learn more, you’re helping us build a county where recovery is respected, supported, and sustained.
